2009/10 OSC Officer Candidate Positions
Job Descriptions
President: Presides at all meetings of the OSC and the Board of Governors; appoints all chairmen to the Board with the approval of the Executive Committee; fills vacancies in the other elected offices (with the approval of the Executive Committee). Reviews and signs all audit reports and is an ex-officio member of all committees (except the Nominating Committee).
First Vice President: Performs the duties of the President in the President’s absence; serves as Protocol Officer for all OSC functions; serves as Chairman of the Christmas Tea; and performs such duties as may be delegated by the President. This position deals with the “activities” side of the OSC.
Second Vice President: Performs the duties of the First Vice President in his or her absence; serves as Protocol Officer for the Board of Governors, and performs duties as may be delegated by the President. This position deals with the “welfare” side of the OSC.
Recording Secretary: Records the minutes of all meetings of the OSC and the Board of Governors and posts them; is custodian of the permanent records of the OSC, and performs any duties delegated by the President. Computer experience is required.
Administrative Treasurer: Custodian of financial records and accounts of the OSC; responsible for filing an income tax statement with the IRS; and is accountable for all money in the Administrative Fund. Presents books for audit upon resignation or completion of terms of office and presents all audit reports to the President for review and signature. Computer experience is required.
Welfare Treasurer: Custodian of financial records and accounts of the OSC; and is accountable for all money in the Welfare Fund. Presents books for audit upon resignation or completion of term of office. Computer experience is required.
