Welcome to the Wright Patterson Officers’ Spouses’ Club!
I am so very pleased to welcome you to the Wright Patterson Officers’ Spouses’ Club, also known as one of the biggest and best OSC’s in the Military community. Our OSC is made up of quite a wonderful and diverse group of individuals. Among our members you will find business professionals as well as stay at home parents, newlyweds to retirees and everyone in between.
The experience of this year’s Governing Board ranges from those serving for the first time to those like myself who started out here over 10 years ago. Combined, I am sure we have over 100 years of experience. My fellow Board members and I are dedicated to making this an exceptional year filled with friendship, fun and fulfillment.
Our fabulous and creative Programs duo of Paula Cardenas and Julia Orschell are two of the best program chairs I have ever encountered! I guarantee you won’t want to miss any of their spectacular programs. Every month they bring an event unlike any other. They are also the Queens of shopping and always amaze with their wonderful table decorations and door prizes.
The WPOSC offers many activities and volunteer opportunities. Make sure to get involved and sign up for some of our wonderful activities. We offer everything from Antiques and Bunko to Gold Bricks and Play Group. We are world famous for Mah Jongg and Amy Jo and her Marvelous Mah Jongg group will teach you all about this fascinating game. We have so many activities I am sure something will interest you. If you have an interest that is not represented, let our Activities Chair, Katy Howard, know and she will help you get a new group started.
If you are looking to Volunteer and help the community at the same time, then come join the Thrift Shop team! Thanks to our amazing Thrift Shop volunteers and their outstanding dedication and hard work we are able to raise a significant amount of money to donate to scholarships and various charities. Under the great leadership of Phyllis Lafky and her wonderful village of volunteers our Thrift Shop is the best around. If you want to be part of a great team, they are always looking for new smiling faces.
Another great volunteer opportunity unique to Wright Patterson is the Air Force Museum Guides. Sue Craven and Sara Lowe, Co-Chair the A.F. Museum Guides and they are a dynamic duo of knowledge concerning the Museum. We are so blessed to have such a fabulous museum in our vicinity. I encourage you to give them a call and enjoy our great A.F. Museum. By the way, you should definitely bring your family to visit the Air Force Museum!
We also have a few special interest groups like the International Spouses Group and the Retired Officers’ Wives’ and Widows’ Group. Both of these groups are filled with amazing and remarkable individuals. You simply must attend their functions!
